Farmers Markets

Say Goodbye to Store Bought Produce!

There are A LOT of farmers markets out there. Farmers' markets are a great way to get good, local food at a fair price and support small agriculture. If you bring big bags and plan correctly, you can even get all the fresh produce that you need for a week's worth of cooking. If you don't already get your seasonal produce from a market please give it a try--I'm sure that once you try it, you won't go back!

Check out the links below to help you find a market in your area. There are many other sites on the web to help locate markets, but in my opinion these 3 are the best!

Simply the best tool for finding your closest farmers' market. It may even be a good enough database that I don't need the other links, but I always like to include extra options

Not quite as easy to use as the USDA database, but it also gives you the option of looking for pick-your-own, CSAs, and farms. A great overall resource for finding what you need.

The last resort for those who cannot find a suitable market near where they live. This is exactly as the name says: a farmers market, but online rather than in person. I have not yet used the site myself, but it seems like a really neat idea if you are stranded in a marketless area!
